Joshua Sikora, founder and director of the Cinema & New Media Arts program, won the prestigious Gold Remi Award at the 49th Annual Houston International Film Festival for his short film, Nova.
The film, which is available online as part of The Seventh Spectrum anthology series, first premiered on Hulu in July 2014. Incorporating real-life footage of the sun from space and animation of stellar phenomenon, Nova was a perfect fit for this year’s NASA theme at the Houston International Film Festival.
