Cinema & New Media Arts | On Oct 02, 2020
In September, we were thrilled to virtually host acclaimed filmmaker A.J. Edwards for an in-depth chat with our MFA in Screenwriting students. Edwards is the writer and director of Age Out (2018) and The Better Angels (2014), as well as an editor for The Tree of Life (2011), To the Wonder (2012), and The Vessel (2016). In the Zoom conversation with Edwards, our MFA students had the chance to discuss storytelling, independent films, editing, and directing. Edwards generously shared from his rich and diverse production experiences.
Edwards is one of a number of notable filmmakers our MFA students have had the chance to interact with this year. Other guests have included Walter Murch (editor of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now), Oscar-nominated screenwriter Whit Stillman (Metropolitan, Love & Friendship), and screenwriter Nambi E. Kelley (“The Chi”).
