CNMA Students Awarded Honors at Convocation

On May 6th, four Cinema & New Media Arts students received special awards at the 2015 HBU Honors Convocation. Presented by Dr. J. Matthew Boyleston, the Dean of the School of Fine Arts, the awards recognize some of our most talented, hard-working, and generous Cinema & New Media Arts students.
The “Breakout Talent” award is presented to the freshman or incoming student who most impressed the Cinema & New Media Arts faculty throughout his or her first year in the program. This year’s award was given to Lydia Jameson for her outstanding cinematic storytelling.
The “Peer Mentor” award recognizes students who have generously given of their time to help other Cinema & New Media Arts students excel in their work. This year’s award was presented to Joshua McCrary for his selfless attitude of support to the students around him.
The “Outside the Frame” award goes to the student who has excelled at utilizing his or her skills in media projects outside of class. This year’s award went to Mason Franco for the variety of video productions and additional work he has completed this year.
The “Outstanding Cinema & New Media Arts Student” is awarded by the faculty to the student who consistently showcases excellence, both technically and creatively, within his or her entire body of work. This year, the faculty recognizes Richard Villatoro as the most Outstanding Cinema & New Media Arts Student.
